“To fly on long wings”
A presentation about gliding trough the eyes of a paraglider pilot.
This Saturday 05.09.2020 we invite all our friends interested in gliding on a short presentation showing the path of the glider pilot trough the eyes of the paraglider and gliding pilot – Ivelin Kalushkov.
The presentation will review the similarities between the two types of gliding, the learning process and the personal path of Ivelin between his transition form paragliding to sailplane flying. Ivo will share with us his experience and impressions of flying in Bulgaria and Australia. We’ll discuss the organization and development of the sport in Bugaria. and abroad.

For many people flying a glider is just a dream. Reality however is that gliding today is more affordable than ever before. Let me tell you more about my path in the gliding world and my transition between paragliding and gliding on sailplanes. Let’s review the similarities and differences, affordability and first steps to take into the gliding world. Myths and reality – we’ll review the most common misconceptions and see which are correct or not.

We’ll discuss the potential of Bulgaria for gliding activities, the legal side of flying and the sport regulation. We’ll review all the path options one can choose to become a glider pilot an how different types of flying complement each other.

About the presenter:
Ivelin Kalushkov is a pragliding pilot since 2005. Internationally certified instructor and competition pilot. Ivo is flying gliders since 2016 in Australia. Currently holder of a few National records in gliding made abroad. Ivo is a member of the Bulgarian Gliding Commission and main editor of Gliding Bulgaria.
