On 17-th of February 2019, after almost 15 years of no activity in gliding in Bulgaria, a successful gathering of the gliding clubs was held. In the presence of the president of the Bulgarian National Aero Club – Angel Stamenov – a new gliding commission was elected to represent the sport of gliding in front of FAI.

– Tatiana Obretenova (aeroclub Montana) – former Women European champion, instructor and competition pilot. FAI – IGC alternate delegate.
Members:
– Georgi Georgiev (aeroclub Ludogorie)
– Ivelin Kalushkov ( club SkyNomad )
The purpose of the commission is to observe and apply the FAI sporting code for gliding in the country. To supervise and control sporting events and flights for badges and records.
