Sports clubs (Aero clubs) are non-profit organizations aiming at development of the sporting aspects of aviation. Aero clubs unite the pilots with common interests and help their development with coaching, training or material support. Aero clubs are usually the main organizing authorities for major and minor sporting events in countries. Currently there are only a few operational sport aero-clubs in Bulgaria.
On a national level gliding as a sport is regulated by the Bulgarian National Aero Club (BNAC) which is the national representative of the International Gliding Federation (FAI). Since 2019 Bulgaria again has a working gliding commission to regulate the sporting activity of glider pilots in bulgaria.
Most active clubs developing gliding in Bulgaria are:
